Bart works diligently with clients on business entity formation and capitalization; incentive plans, executive compensation and employment agreements; customized domestic and international contracts; intellectual property protection; growth plans and commercial synergies; banking and finance; regulatory affairs and compliance; mergers and acquisitions; restructurings, reorganizations and consolidations; business succession planning and exit strategies; and ownership disputes and derivative actions. Bart has represented a wide spectrum of clients, including individuals, sole proprietorships, closely-held businesses, venture-backed companies, private equity funds and their portfolio companies, banks, financial institutions, private lenders, publicly-traded companies and public utilities.
Bart received his J.D. degree from the University at Buffalo School of Law and his B.A. degree from the University of Rochester.
Professional Affiliations and Recognitions
Bart is a member of the Monroe County Bar Association (MCBA) and served as the Chair of the MCBA Business Law Council in 2014 and 2015.
Bart serves on the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Rochester and the Board of Directors of Person Centered Housing Options, and is also a Deal Team Volunteer (Legal) for the Venture Jobs Foundation.
Before joining the firm in May 2019, Bart was the Business Practice Group Leader in the Rochester office of Bond Schoeneck & King PLLC, and prior to that, he worked as an associate at Harter Secrest & Emery LLP in Rochester after starting his practice in the New York City office of Morgan Lewis & Bockius, LLP.
